“Standing recommendations”, intended to assist with the transition from the emergency phase of the Covid-19 response to the management of Covid-19 as an endemic disease, were introduced by the Director-General of the WHO (Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus).
But do they look familiar? Perhaps this is because they reflect the proposed amendments to the International Health Regulations (2005) as set out in the Bureau’s Text which is supposedly still only in negotiation by 196 member nations. Is this a coincidence or a sign of future binding obligations from which we will have no escape? This is an important read. #bintheWHO.
